To further broaden children’s horizons and develop critical new skills during their early childhood education
At Norbeck Montessori, we offer our Rockville preschool and kindergarten students the opportunity to participate in several enrichment programs to further broaden their horizons and develop critical new skills during their early childhood education. We offer our preschool and kindergarten students the option to learn more about the Spanish language, science, and technical skills, as well as fine arts.
Our Enrichment Programs provide our students with unique lessons and experiences within the free environment of a Montessori classroom. Our Spanish, science, and fine arts offerings allow Rockville preschool and kindergarten students to socialize, reinforce basic skills, and dive into specific topic areas. These programs seamlessly integrate with the skills and lessons learned in our Montessori classrooms.
Introduction to Spanish for Preschool & Kindergarten Students
At this young age, preschool and kindergarten students’ little brains are wired to learn naturally and they love it! Our native Spanish-speaking teacher visits each classroom to converse with the students and teach them about the culture of different Spanish-speaking countries.
Our Rockville Montessori school’s introduction to Spanish lessons includes teaching the students greetings, colors, counting, shapes, and how to talk a little about themselves.
Our Montessori Fine Arts Program
While art is part of the everyday curriculum at Norbeck Montessori, our Fine Arts program takes it up a notch! We use professional art materials such as real canvases, acrylic paints, mosaic tile, and modeling clay to teach children about the different aspects of art. We teach children to not only explore but to understand and appreciate art.
They beam with pride when they get to share their creations with their families and explain the materials used and approaches they learned while creating them. Our Fine Arts Program is a fun and exciting way for our students to explore their creativity while learning about different art movements, materials, and historical figures.
Hands-On Science Program
Our students have a LOVE of science! Norbeck Montessori’s Hands-On Science program is designed to captivate your child’s natural curiosity about the world around them. Our Rockville students explore science hands-on, in true Montessori fashion. As your child progresses, so do the science lessons, preparing students for a lifetime love of science and discovery!
The Hands-On Science program introduces children to many interesting STEM themes where they become their own teachers. As they explore topics such as plants, animals, space, color mixing, the five senses, and volcanoes, your student will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and creativity skills needed to become explorers for life.
What Parents Say
We believe that clear communication with parents is essential to the child’s wellbeing. It is particularly important during the early preschool years when children reach and surpass many developmental milestones. Naturally, we work diligently to help each of the children to be best taken care of. That is the reason why the parents give us best reviews. Here are a few of them.
