Our very own Mr. Denis has been hard at work creating videos that tell stories about the experiences our students are having here at Norbeck. These videos are meant to tell a story about the fun and hard work some of the children are exploring on a daily basis.
A Little Bit About Denis
Denis majored in Psychology at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. While attending UMCP, Denis also played intermural soccer and worked at the Episcopal Center for Children as a counselor for children with emotional and behavioral problems. Denis started working at Norbeck Montessori in 1997 as a teaching assistant in our Kindergarten classroom. Working here part time throughout his college career, Denis later became a full time staff member after graduation. In 2007 he knew his passion was to teach Montessori and began his training to become a primary teacher and opened his own classroom the following school year. In addition to teaching in his primary classroom, Denis also created and runs Norbeck’s Science Program, specifically developed for our Junior K and Big K students. Over the past two years Denis has been leading Early Childhood Education workshops at Montgomery College teaching math and science to local teachers and students.
As part of his continuing education, Denis enrolled in a course called “Story Telling Through Technology”. As part of this course he learn the art of how to tell stories using video and audio multimedia tools. Norbeck has been able to benefit from his hard work and creativity with the new video stories he has developed. We hope you enjoy these creations as much as we do, and keep checking in to see what new experiences Denis concocts. You can find the videos at https://norbeck.com/videos. Enjoy!
