Back to School Night is a valuable opportunity to learn important information about your child’s day. It is your chance to hear your child’s teacher share information about his or her teaching style, projects for the upcoming school year or the classroom layout.
Here are some important takeaways from Back-to-School Night.
- An overview of your child’s school day
Our teachers will share the typical daily and weekly schedule for their class. Not all of our teacher follow the same daily or weekly schedule, so this is a wonderful chance to learn how the teachers structure the children’s time. - Knowledge of what the classroom looks like
Take a look around. Each of our classrooms is curated by the teachers. They have spent a lot of time cleaning, organizing and designing each section of the classroom. Learn more about the elements of the classroom that make up our Montessori Curriculum. - See the classroom from your child’s point of view
Sitting in the chairs of the classroom give you an opportunity to see the classroom from your child’s perspective. - How to contact the teacher
Many of our teachers will offer ways to stay in contact and what form of communication she prefers; email, voice mail or notes. Classroom newsletters go out monthly – make sure you keep an eye out for it! - How to become a volunteer in the classroom
There will be opportunities to sign-up for volunteer activities, either for school-wide programs or in the classroom. Please give some thought to your schedule and other commitments and how you would like to contribute to the school community.
Remember, your teacher might be a little nervous about meeting all the parents, even if they have don’t this 20 times before! We look forward to seeing you Thursday evening, September 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
