Norbeck’s Monthly Newsletter

December 2017 & January 2018 Newsletter

Did I really just write "January 2018"?  Oh my gosh!!!  I don't know about you, but this year has completely flown by.  Well, before we forge into 2018, we still have a lot going in 2017.  Please be sure to read everything carefully.

Topping our list of 2017 closeout items is our Holiday Songfest.  This annual tradition is a must see for the whole family.  It will take place on December 8th at The Chinese Bible Church of Maryland, 4414 Muncaster Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853 .  Please note, Norbeck will be closed for the entire day.  As I mentioned earlier, this is a show everyone will want to see but at a minimum, at least one responsible adult must attend the performance.  Unfortunately, if an adult is not able to attend, we must ask that you keep your child home for the day and inform us of their absence ASAP.  If Montgomery County Schools close due to inclement weather, our performance will be canceled and school will remain closed.  If there is a delayed opening due to snow, we will begin everything on time, as scheduled.
Children should arrive at 9:00 a.m. and absolutely no later than 9:15.  A staff member will greet you and your child at the doors to the party room.  If you have any donations for the after party, we will take those at the door as well.  Please click here if you wish to contribute goodies to the after party!  We kindly thank you in advance for understanding but we will not be allowing any parents to enter the party room before the show.  You may go find a seat in the sanctuary and wait for the show to begin at 9:30 a.m.!!

Community service projects help strengthen our school and help our students connect with our local community.  This year, we will be collecting for an organization that is very dear to our hearts, Comfort Cases.  This is a charitable organization with a mission to let every child in foster care, know they matter.  Comfort Cases believes that every child has the right to a more humane experience in foster care, and that starts by providing them with a case to pack their belongings in, instead of a trash bag.  Please click here to help.

We will be offering child care over the Winter Break. Childcare will be available from 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Tuesday, December 26th- Friday, December 29th. EVERYONE MUST REGISTER in advance, please click here to signup.  Please understand that no walk-ins will be permitted.  Break is included at no additional cost for those in our Kindergarten and Extended Day Programs.  For those registered in our 1/2 Day or Full Day Programs, the cost is $60/day- there is no hourly rate available.  Again, those that wish to partake, MUST sign up in advance, no exceptions will be made!
